This is a lovely carpet so far. The color is perfect, and it adds a warm and comfortable, homey feel to the lower level. I would have given it 5 stars, but the installation was not what I would I ever want to go through again. One installer, the brother in law of the one that seemed to be in charge, was on his phone a significant amount of time. The only one that would speak to me was the one in charge. That was also problematic, we had a communication difficulty: English was not his first language and I had trouble understanding him. It gave me too much anxiety. The project was one thousand square feet, and not cheap, so I was not happy or comfortable working with this crew.

I recently purchased this Karastan carpet and I couldn't be more pleased. The old adage of "you get what you pay for" could not be more true. In reality this carpet was more expensive than the average builder grade carpet it is far more luxurious when walking and/or laying on it. Thank you HOM for carrying this brand with the myriad of design choices. I would buy this again and again.

We picked Karastan Crafted Details carpet because of the Smartstrand fiber claims. We gave the sample a "moisture spill" test with water to replicate a pet accident. The water just beaded up on the surface and never soaked in. Checked it an hour later and the small pool of water was still beaded up on the surface. I was sold as we have aging pets. Every other carpet sample we tested this way sucked in the water immediately. The carpet is now installed and we are very satisfied with our choice. Although it is not the softest carpet fiber to the touch, it is dense and gives a luxurious cushion underfoot. Love walking on it, superior comfort for tired feet. We are looking forward to installing it upstairs.
