29th Annual HOM Open Participants, Volunteers, and Organizers Chip in to Help Minnesota Adult Teen Challenge

The 2018 HOM Open Golf Tournament Raised More Than $300,000 for Minnesota Adult Teen Challenge and other community causes.

COON RAPIDS, MN -- Over 300 golfers participated in HOM Furniture’s annual HOM-Open charity golf tournament to support local organization Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge. Tournament goers enjoyed a day on the green at Majestic Oaks Golf course supporting MNATC and other local charities, raising over $300,000 in funds.

Many golfers decorated their carts to show off their festive support.

The MNATC Choir opened the tournament by singing the national anthem before the golfers began their day. Along with golfing, participants spent the day engaging in games and events sponsored by industry partners, such as Tempur-Pedic, a sponsor that has donated over 400 mattresses to the MNATC Minneapolis campus.

“All of our industry partners play an important part of raising the money by participating in sponsorships,” said President and CEO of HOM Furniture Rodney Johansen. “Winners [of prizes and games] donated their winnings back to Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge in the amount of $3,000+. That is the true spirit of giving!"

With continuous community support, the HOM-Open has been able to raise over three million dollars for local community projects over the years. Next year’s HOM Open will be the tournament’s 30th year anniversary, and will take place on August 15th, 2019.
