Coon Rapids, MN (July 24, 2024) - HOM Furniture hosted its 35th annual HOM Open Charity Golf Tournament on July 17th, 2024, at Majestic Oaks Golf Course, Signature Course, in Ham Lake, Minnesota. The tournament raised more than $300,000 for HOM furniture’s selection of local charities throughout the upper Midwest, including the key recipient, Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge (MNATC) .

The annual charity golf tournament has grown over the years, from a small golf tournament into a well-known industry event featuring a full day of entertainment and strong community support. HOM Furniture’s executive team and many employees participate in the event through planning and fundraising ahead of the tournament, and numerous industry partners play an important part in raising the money by participating in sponsorships in and around the event. Char Johansen, HOM Open Event Chair, served as the event MC, and Tom Truszinski, MNATC CEO and Executive Director and other representatives of the charity attended the event. This year’s tournament included 144 registered golf participants.

The day of golf and community started with the traditional MNATC choir performance to kick off the tournament. Along with golf, there was food and entertainment available throughout the day and course, including a grab-and-go-lunch, some classic games, and a new game of Chick-a-hoop to keep participants smiling.

The event wrapped up with a dinner, prizes and a program, which included information about MNATC and its mission to assist men, women and teens in gaining freedom from chemical addictions and other life-controlling problems by addressing their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Two guests from Team Challenge shared their touching testimonials as a part of the program.

The golf tournament is a yearly culmination of the long-standing partnership between HOM Furniture and MNATC.
