HOM Furniture’s Hermantown, Minnesota showroom and WDIO-TV in Duluth, Minnesota, with the support of the Duluth community, raised more than $20,000 throughout the 2020 holiday season. The fifth annual Trees of Hope campaign ran from late November through Christmas Eve in 2020, raising the highest amount of money of any of the previous years.
As in the past years, HOM Furniture teamed up with their TV Broadcast partners in Duluth, WDIO-TV. HOM decorated WDIO-TV’s news set each week, with Christmas trees, garland and swag in the color of a selected local charity. During the news broadcast each week, stories about the charity of the week were aired, and every Tuesday, WDIO-TV held a phone bank to raise money for the charity. Anyone who donated $20 or more to any of the charities received a commemorative teal tennis shoe ornament, which reflected one of the featured charities’ colors.
Trees of Hope 2020 raised a grand total of $20,066 for the following charities:
“I’d like to extend a big ‘thank-you’ to the viewers, our customers, families and friends, as well as our HOM employees that worked together to make this fundraiser a success,” said Rod Johansen, President and CEO. “Thanks for coming together and making this the most money we have raised through Trees of Hope in Duluth!”
