Coon Rapids (December 6, 2022) – HOM Furniture is proud to announce it received a High Score on the Wood Furniture Scoreboard for 2022 from the Sustainable Furniture Council (SFC). The SFC promotes the Wood Furniture Scorecard, an annual honor that recognizes businesses that implement policies and practices to drive responsible wood sourcing.

HOM Furniture works directly with numerous furniture suppliers to reduce overall wood waste while crafting more sustainable products. This is achieved several ways, such as through an increased use of reclaimed wood, recycled wood, and wood alternatives, such as bamboo, for furnishings including bedroom furniture, dining room furniture, living room furniture and accent pieces.

Additionally, HOM Furniture works with suppliers to eliminate the use of unacceptable sources, which may include illegally harvested or traded timber, timber harvested in violation of traditional or civil rights, and timber harvested from areas in which high conservation values are threatened by poor forest management. Instead, HOM Furniture works with suppliers to increase the amount of responsible wood, such wood certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), that is procured over time.
