Home Decor for the Holidays

There’s no place like home for the holidays, especially with decor items like these.

Why just decorate the tree when you can easily decorate your whole house? This holiday season, spread festive joy throughout your home by incorporating holiday home decor to deck your halls—and the rest of your house!

Does the thought of decorating your whole home seem intimidating? You just need to pick the right place to start, and then focus in on key areas throughout your home. For instance, the entryway of your home will set the tone for your entire house. Incorporate all of the holiday colors by using poinsettias for a splash of red, pine garlands for green, and candles or ornaments for white. Of course, you can also choose to display decorations in other color schemes you prefer. Just don’t forget to show your holiday spirit outside by hanging a Christmas wreath on your front door and Christmas lights on your house.

Lighting up Your Living Spaces

Decorating for the holidays is all in the details. By making small changes, you can really give the room a festive feeling; for example, switch out your art for winter wall decor or Christmas paintings with LED lights in the art piece to show your Christmas spirit. Add a touch of coziness by adding a few throw blankets and swapping out your regular throw pillows for holiday themed ones, or red, green or shiny ones! You can even find a holiday pillow with LED mini lights in them. They are battery operated for easy use, and sure to add a festive glow to your room.

Christmas ornaments can be used for more than just your Christmas tree. Fill a large glass bowl with them and set it on a Christmas table runner, and you have an easy and beautiful centerpiece for your coffee table. You can also set a tabletop Christmas tree on a side table or sideboard and decorate it with miniature ornaments for an additional focal point to express holiday cheer.

The mantle is the focal point of the living room, so this holiday make sure to show your Christmas spirit with your decor. Christmas decorations such as reindeer or angel figurines spread throughout a garland intertwined with Christmas lights bring a warm and festive feel to the room. Top it off by hanging a Christmas painting above the mantle and hanging your stockings for Santa to fill.

Delightful Dining Decor

In the dining room, consider a holiday tablecloth or runner to tie together the room. String garlands and lights around the windows to bring that cozy feel. For a classic, elegant appearance, use silver and gold candles, pine cones and metallic ornaments to make an eye-catching centerpiece. For a more rustic holiday feel, fill a few mason jars with a candle and winter berries, tie some twine or ribbon around each jar, arrange them on a cake stand and surround them with a pine garland. Fill your buffet with candles, ornaments, and Christmas tree decorations or other décor. You can then hang a wreath above it to complete the room.

Once you have decorated to your heart’s delight, light a fire, cozy up on the couch with a mug of hot cocoa. You have all season to admire your hard work.
