HOM Furniture partnered with NR Properties Inc. in the design and furnishing of a model home that is featured in the spring Parade of Homes Twin Cities and Remodelers Showcase, taking place March 12 – April 10, 2022. The home, named The Kelly, is located in The Meadowlands, a new subdivision in Blaine, Minnesota.

The Kelly is a beautiful two-story home that features an innovative floor plan a focus on functionality. This home features five bedrooms, four bathrooms, an executive kitchen, a breakfast bar and large mudroom. Showcasing two of today’s top priorities for home buyers, the home also features a front office space for work, and a west-facing screened porch for fun and relaxation. A finished basement offers an extra bedroom and bath.

HOM Furniture partnered with NRP in making the most of the thoughtful layout of this home through use of the company’s functional flooring, commercial tile for the bathrooms, fireplace surround and kitchen backsplash, as well as furnishings and decor. The home is designed to be welcoming and comfortable, while highlighting some of today’s hottest design trends.

Tami Beitz, Business Development Manager at HOM Furniture, consulted with NRP on the design and selected all furnishings for the home. “We have collaborated with NRP for many years, staging some of the company’s beautiful models located throughout the greater Twin Cities area, and this year’s model home exhibition is a favorite that we’re proud to share during the Parade of Homes,” Beitz said. “This home has a modern farmhouse flare, yet the kitchen space lends to more of a classic style, so it was a really fun canvas to work with, and the result feels both current and comfortable.”

The Kelly home features lots of wall details, from shiplap to board and batten, that bring texture and interest into the space. Additionally, some of today’s current trends were brought in by highlighting the blue accent features through the home, as well as the black hardware details.

Furniture and décor were selected to complement the design of the home and suit the modern farmhouse meets classic aesthetic.

Kitchen and Dining Room: Sedona dining set and buffet are featured in the kitchen space, complementing the color tone of the floors with metal details that pair beautifully with the home's hardware and lighting.

Master Bedroom: With a blue accent wall creating a relaxing backdrop, the Hayward king bedroom set takes center stage as you walk into the master suite. A Cabell accent chair featuring beautiful wood arms in a weathered finish and the modern pattern brings interest to the space.

Basement Family Room/ Bar: Abner 3-piece sectional offers a mid-modern style that gives the space a fun yet sophisticated vibe, while the chevron plank details on the Palisades TV stand carries that modern farmhouse feeling into the room. With ample seating and plenty of areas to relax, this basement family room is ready to entertain family and friends.

Décor: Black and white artwork is displayed throughout the home, which really allows for the blue accents to pop in addition to all the beautiful faux greenery that is featured in the home. The plants bring life into the space without taking away from the other features in the room.
